Step 1 – Disinfect your Derma Roller
Spray or soak your Derma Roller with an alcohol based sanitiser such as Isopropyl and allow it to air dry on a clean paper towel ready for use.
Step 2 – Wash your face
Thoroughly cleanse the skin with a gentle pH-balanced cleanser, like our Aesthetics Rx Revitalising Foaming Cleanser, and pat dry
For sensitive skin apply your Aesthetics Rx serum prior to rolling or for a more active delivery, apply your serum after rolling
Step 3 – Begin derma rolling
The technique is very important, so listen closely! Splitting up your face into sections makes the whole process easier. Here’s a visual of what that looks like:
Gently roll in one direction 6 to 8 times, depending on your skin tolerance and sensitivity, and make sure to lift the roller after each pass. So, roll in one direction. Lift up. Repeat. Always roll very gently around the eye contour and upper lip areas.
Step 4 – Continue your basic skin care routine.
Follow up derma rolling with a basic skin care routine. That means no chemical exfoliates or active ingredients like benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, tretinoin, etc. Look for serums or products with:
Vitamin C
Niacinamide
Epidermal growth factors
Hyaluronic Acid (HA)
We recommend the use of any Aesthetics Rx Serum.
Step 5 – Disinfect derma roller
Rinse your derma roller under warm water, shake dry and allow to air dry before replacing it into the storage container.
Home rolling can be performed up to 3 times a week, spaced out evenly over the week, and depending on your skin concern and condition. It is recommended to gradually build up to this frequency.
