We’ve got news! Prevention’s 2021 Best of Beauty Awards have been announced and we are delighted to share that our Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller is a winner! At SILK, we are big advocates for our favourite at-home apparatus, and we are absolutely thrilled that Prevention feels the same!
Firstly, what is the Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller?
The Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller is a handheld tool with tiny needles that are manually rolled over the skin to create micro-punctures. These miniscule, controlled wounds don’t actually cause damage to the skin, rather encourage a wound healing response. As a result, it can improve the appearance of acne scars, uneven skin texture, enlarged pores, oily skin, dry skin, fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, or stretch marks.
So, what’s to love about the Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller?
Firstly, it’s safe and effective! When used regularly at home (up to three times a week, spaced out evenly) you accelerate your product absorption by up to 90%. In addition, the freshly created micro-channels allow your skin condition to improve, leaving your skin fresher, plumper and more even. Plus, it’s suitable for all skin types, so almost everyone can experience its benefits!
The Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller has 540 tiny needles that are 0.25mm in length. To achieve needle depths deeper, it’s best left to the professionals – that’s where you can rely on SILK’s Microneedling treatment. The Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller is great at complementing and maintaining your in-clinic results – not just with Microneedling, but any skin treatment at SILK!
We’re all about safety!
You’re in safe hands (your own!) when you manually glide the Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller over your face, as you’re not generating an inflammation or a blood response like you experience in clinic. Instead, the Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller superficially exfoliates your skin, carefully!
As long as you remember these key tips, you can’t go wrong:
– Apply gentle pressure, rolling even lighter around the eye and upper lip areas
– Don’t roll over any active acne or open wounds
– Have freshly cleansed skin
– Ensure your Derma Roller is thoroughly cleansed before and after you start rolling
– Do not use the Derma Roller more than three times a week
– Replace your Derma Roller every six weeks for maximum efficiency
For sensitive skin, apply your Aesthetics Rx serum prior to rolling. Or, for a more active skincare delivery, roll onto a clean, dry face and apply your serum after you roll. (Bonus tip: If you apply our Aesthetics Rx H20 Hydrating Balm post-treatment, you will accelerate your skin’s healing and your skin will relish in the goodness!)
We think there is something particularly fun and effective about the convenience of skincare direct from the couch – and, the Aesthetics Rx Derma Roller delivers! So, if you’re looking to boost your skincare routine or improve your results in-between SILK appointments, visit your nearest SILK clinic, and get rolling!
