Key Ingredients

Retinol 1%

• The most widely used retinoid in skincare because it is very stable in formulations and  well tolerated by the skin. Retinol is converted to retinoic acid in the skin in a two-step enzymatic process and in this bioavailable form it binds to the retinoid receptors in the keratinocyte. It has a significant effect on improving the appearance of prematurely aged skin as well as reducing hyperpigmentation and dryness. Effectively reducing the appearance of wrinkles without inducing skin irritation, Retinol can regenerate the skin, therefore prevents the skin from accelerated ageing.

Ceramide 3

• Skin identical and powerhouse lipid that reinforces the skins barrier function and prevents trans-epidermal moisture loss. Ceramides, naturally present in the skin, are part of the lipid phase in the skins hydrolipidic film but deplete as the skin ages or is exposed to environmental stress. These lipids bind the keratinised cells of the Stratum corneum together, to form a cohesive barrier that prevents damage from pollution, environmental stress and prevent dehydration. Often referred to as the “mortar” in the “bricks and mortar” analogy that describes the protective barrier function the skin plays in preventing unwanted pathogens from entering the skin and moisture evaporating.  

Acmella Oleracea Extract

• Traditionally used to numb toothache thanks to the presence of an analgesic molecule called Spilanthol, it helps to smooth the surface of the skin, minimising the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in prematurely aged skin.

Hyaluronic Acid
