How it works
Skin Regeneration
MediPeels are a powerful and effective treatment designed to rejuvenate and revitalise your skin. It works by harnessing the skin’s natural healing and regeneration processes, stimulating the production of new skin cells by clearing away the buildup of dead cells on the surface. This deep exfoliation process results in healthier and brighter skin.
The MediPeel blend
MediPeels by Aesthetics Rx are a 2-step treatment using powerful blends of enzymes, AHAs, BHAs, and acids like glycolic, lactic, and salicylic to remove damaged skin layers and improve texture. These ingredients break down proteins on the skin’s surface, preparing it for deep exfoliation and triggering an inflammatory response.

SILK offers nine types of MediPeels, each targeting specific skin concerns. With gentle options like Balancing Peels through to targeted treatments for acne, pigmentation, and ageing, there’s a MediPeel for every need. Skin Preparation

Initially, the treated area may be red due to increased circulation but will generally fade within a few hours. Peeling with some of the MediPeels are common a few days after treatment but will decrease once multiple treatments have been performed and the area is in better condition. If breakouts or damaged skin have been treated, the area may be red and could scab lasting approximately 5-7 days with no residual scarring. Mineral makeup can be applied to the area immediately after treatment, to ensure you can get back to your day without any interruption.
For general rejuvenation, it is recommended to have approximately six treatments performed every 2-4 weeks (advised by your technician to best suit your skin type). Severe breakouts or pigmentation may require more treatments. After the first course, treatments can be maintained every 8-12 weeks.
A good starting point is to book a consultation with one of our experienced skin technicians. You will have the opportunity to discuss your concerns and ask questions. You will be provided with detailed information regarding the treatments or procedures that can help you, the expected outcomes, and the costs involved.
Chemical peels use acidic solutions, but the acids in skin treatments differ from those used in industrial applications. The acids used in skincare are alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs). AHAs, which are water-soluble, come from sugary fruits, while BHAs, which are oil-soluble, are derived from willow bark and sweet birch trees.
The type of formulation used in your chemical peel depends on the skin issue being treated. While both AHAs and BHAs exfoliate, each is more effective for different skin concerns.
The effectiveness of a peel is not determined by how much peeling occurs but by the results. Peeling can vary based on your skin’s condition and the peel’s depth. Even with varying degrees of peeling, the skin is exfoliating faster, leading to improved tone, texture, and reduced fine lines and uneven pigmentation.
